Privacy Policy

What the app stores

The app keeps your settings — your rite, your choices for the office, the office and day you were reading, your themes and text size — and your prayer list on your device, so it can open where and how you left it. They are never sent to me. Deleting the app deletes them from that device.

Reminders you set are scheduled on your device by the system, and nothing about them leaves it.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, Daily Office keeps your devices in step through your own iCloud account, which Apple holds for you. I have no access to it and never receive anything from it.

• Your prayer list is kept in your private iCloud database. Everything in each prayer — its words, its kind and when it is prayed — is end-to-end encrypted: it can be read only on your own devices, not by Apple and not by me.
• Your settings for the office and your themes, where you are in an office, and which offices you have opened today (so that a reminder on another of your devices stays quiet) are kept in your iCloud with iCloud’s standard protection, or end-to-end encrypted if you have turned on Advanced Data Protection.

The text size, the page turn and a few other things that suit one screen are not shared between devices. The words of the offices are never sent to iCloud or anywhere else.

To stop syncing, turn off Daily Office in your device’s iCloud settings. To delete what is kept in iCloud, use Manage Storage in those settings. Neither affects the office itself, which works without a network.

What the app collects

Nothing. The app contains no analytics or tracking code and no third-party software development kits that collect data. It does not use your location, contacts, photos, microphone or camera, and it does not create or use any identifier for you or your device.

The network

Every word of the offices is stored in the app. Daily Office does not fetch the office, the readings or anything else from the internet in order to show them to you.

The reading voice

The voice that can read the office aloud comes with the app. It is not downloaded, and it runs entirely on your device: the words it reads and what it says never leave it.

Buy Me a Coffee

If you choose to support the app at buymeacoffee.com/dailyofficeapp, you do so on Buy Me a Coffee’s website, under its own privacy policy. It is optional, it unlocks nothing, and the app itself sends nothing there. Buy Me a Coffee tells me the name and message you choose to give with your support.

When you write to me

If you choose Send Feedback, the app opens a message in your own Mail app, addressed to feedback@dailyofficeapp.com. It fills in the office, rite and date you were reading, your settings for the office, the app’s version and the kind of device and system (for example, “iPad, iPadOS 26”). You can read and change all of it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send it.

When you email me, I receive your email address and whatever your message contains. I use them only to read and answer your message and to correct the app. I do not add you to a mailing list, and I do not sell or share your message or address with anyone.

Information Apple provides

Apple may share with developers anonymous crash reports and usage statistics from people who have chosen to share them with app developers, in the device’s privacy settings. If you test the app through TestFlight, feedback and crash reports you choose to send through TestFlight reach me through Apple. Apple’s handling of this information is described in Apple’s own privacy policy.

Widgets and Control Center

Daily Office’s widgets and its Control Center button run on your device. They show only the app’s own words and your choices, and send nothing anywhere. When you add a prayer with Siri, Siri handles your request under Apple’s own privacy policy; Daily Office receives only the prayer you add, and keeps it on your prayer list.

Children

Daily Office collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date. If the app ever begins to collect any information, this page will say so before it does.
